Unaccompanied Minors
To ensure their comfort and safety, unaccompanied minors travelling through Terminal 4 are assisted throughout their airport journey by Kuwait Airways staff. Terminal 4 is dedicated exclusively to Kuwait Airways, helping provide a more organized ground experience for passengers before boarding, during transfers, and on arrival.
Kuwait Airways’ Special Services Unit supports unaccompanied minors by receiving them from adult relatives, checking their luggage through to the destination, accompanying them through immigration to the departure gate, coordinating with destination staff, ensuring handover to the cabin chief, and safely delivering the child to the authorized parent or adult relative on arrival.

Age Requirements
Kuwait Airways states that unaccompanied-minor procedures apply to children travelling alone who are 5 years or above but under 12 years of age, at the request of the parent or guardian. The airline also states that unaccompanied minors should not be less than 5 years old, and that an unaccompanied-minor ticket with the applicable UM fare is required for the service.
For the latest age rules, fare requirements, route restrictions, and documentation, parents or guardians should always confirm directly with Kuwait Airways before booking.

Airport Escort & Departure Process
After check-in and document verification, Kuwait Airways staff will guide the unaccompanied minor through the required airport procedures. This may include baggage formalities, passport control, security screening, and movement to the departure gate.
Kuwait Airways states that its Special Services Unit accompanies unaccompanied minors through immigration to the departure gates and ensures that the child is received by the cabin chief, who is responsible for their care during the flight.
Parents or guardians should remain available at the airport until the airline confirms that the child has been accepted for travel and all handover procedures have been completed.

Waiting Before Boarding
Terminal 4 does not need to present a dedicated unaccompanied-minor lounge unless such a service is officially confirmed. Instead, the page should state that unaccompanied minors remain under Kuwait Airways’ care after acceptance and are escorted according to airline procedures until boarding.
When boarding begins, Kuwait Airways staff will hand over the child to the cabin crew. During the flight, the cabin crew will monitor and assist the child according to airline procedures.
Receiving an Unaccompanied Minor
The parent, guardian, or authorized adult receiving the child should arrive at the destination airport on time and carry valid identification. The child will only be released after the airline completes identity verification and the required handover documentation.
Kuwait Airways states that its staff perform the required arrival procedures for young passengers travelling alone and ensure safe delivery to parents or authorized adult relatives.
The receiving adult’s name and contact information should match the details provided in the unaccompanied minor documentation.
Transfers
If the child is travelling on a connecting itinerary through Terminal 4, parents or guardians should confirm with Kuwait Airways before booking. Kuwait Airways states that carriage of unaccompanied minors is permitted only where the itinerary is confirmed across all segments and arranged as an immediate continuous connection.
For connecting flights, Kuwait Airways staff coordinate the child’s movement through the airport and notify destination or transfer staff as required.
