Visa & Entry Requirements
Before travelling to Kuwait, passengers should confirm whether they require a visa, e-Visa, visa on arrival, or other entry approval based on their nationality and travel purpose. Visa rules, eligibility, fees, and allowed stay periods may vary, so passengers are advised to check the latest official requirements before starting their journey.

Kuwait’s official visa instructions currently state that tourist visa applicants should have a passport valid for at least six months, that the entry permit is valid for 30 days from the date of issue, and that the stay duration is generally no more than 90 days from the date of entry, unless otherwise stated on the visa.
Immigration Process
Upon arrival at Kuwait International Airport, proceed to the immigration and passport control area. Passengers may be directed to different lanes depending on nationality, residency status, visa type, or eligibility for GCC/national lanes.
Please make sure you enter the correct lane to avoid delays. Keep your passport, visa or e-Visa copy, boarding pass, and any supporting travel documents ready for inspection.
Immigration officers may ask questions related to your visit, such as:
What is the purpose of your visit?
How long will you stay in Kuwait?
Where will you be staying?
Do you have a return or onward ticket?
Kuwait authorities may also require passengers to complete identity verification procedures, including photo capture, fingerprinting, or other biometric checks, depending on the latest government procedures and passenger category.
Once your entry is approved, the immigration officer will stamp your passport or electronically record your entry into Kuwait.
Important Immigration Guidelines
Please follow the instructions of airport and immigration officials at all times.
Do not use mobile phones, cameras, or recording devices in immigration, passport control, security, or customs inspection areas unless permitted by officials.
Stay calm and answer all questions clearly and honestly. If your documents are complete and your travel purpose matches your visa or entry approval, the process is usually straightforward.
Some passengers may be referred for additional document review or a second-level inspection. This may happen because of missing information, visa/documentation issues, random checks, or further verification requirements. The inspection time can vary depending on the case.
Customs Process
After clearing immigration and collecting your baggage, proceed to the customs inspection area before exiting the airport.
Customs officers are responsible for controlling the movement of goods entering and leaving Kuwait, including personal belongings, commercial goods, food items, medicines, cash, valuables, animals, and restricted or prohibited items. Kuwait International Airport lists customs as part of the passenger arrival procedures, and the airport customs operation is handled by the General Administration of Customs.
Most passengers complete customs within a short time, but bags may be inspected if required. Please declare any goods, cash, valuables, medicines, or restricted items when required by Kuwait customs rules.
Prohibited & Restricted Items
Passengers should not bring prohibited items into Kuwait. Prohibited and restricted goods may be confiscated and may result in penalties or legal action.
Common prohibited or restricted items include:
Alcoholic beverages
Pork products
Narcotics and controlled substances
Pornographic materials
Gambling machines or materials
Firearms, ammunition, weapons, and explosives without special approval
Certain medical products, commercial goods, or restricted items without proper permits

Departures
Before departing from Kuwait, passengers should make sure their passport, boarding pass, visa/residence documents, and any required travel approvals are valid and ready for inspection.
Passengers should also make sure that any fines, legal restrictions, or travel bans are settled before travelling, as these may prevent departure. Travelers who overstay visas may face fines, and unpaid fines or restrictions may affect the ability to leave Kuwait.
